I am a Producer, Director, Camera Op. exploring the real world human experience. Trying to capture images that depict David's plight against Goliath.
My motto, "I didn't know what to believe so I went to see for myself and thus has made all the difference".
Everyone has an opinion but few are willing to go see for themselves what is factually true or even real. So as a story teller I go, to observe and learn through their eyes and experience for myself. Using my given ability to capture compelling images that honestly depict the facts. My efforts are not to influence a point of view but to offer as much information as possible. Raising an awareness about the human experience we might not have known or understood before.
Long before September 11th, 2001, I was a big supporter of the military because of what they provide the country. I grew up as a "Military Brat". My Father served in the Air Force for 20 years while my mother was raising us during his absence. I am keenly aware of the sacrifices military families bear. This is what drives my wife and I. Whenever possible we do all we can to quietly support these families directly. Indirectly, I use my expertise to raise awareness to their sacrifices and commitments for us by walking a mile in their boots and then sharing their story, their images and their loved ones with you. So you are better informed going forward the next time you watch the nightly news.
What September 11th gave me was a clarity and a focus on how I could support our country. Me and my camera, (the little drummer boy). Most of the time I think I'm the luckiest guy in the world, I've been bestowed the honor to telling the story of heroes. Heroes that usually never receive the glow of the entertainment industry lights and for that I am truly grateful.
I have been working in the entertainment industry as a producer, director and camera operator for more than 23 years. You can see some of my work at www.zaragozapictures.com and MichaelSlee.com Feel free to contact me at email@example.com Please let me know how I am doing and what you think I can do to make this better. And if you have a story I'd love to hear it.
